We woke up one morning camped out near Mt. Rainier in Washington and headed south on route 123 en route to Mt. St. Helens. One of my favorite things about the PNW and Northern California is the fog. I love the moody feeling that it brings to landscape photos. I don’t know how many times I drive pass an amazing scene and kick myself for not pulling over to capture it. Often assuming the scene will remain and I will get another chance to capture it down the road, which never materializes. I did not do that however on this day, I actually pulled over and took the shot. It showcases the lushness of the region pretty well. If you look closely you can spot my dog Vinny in the bottom of the photo!

Wow. That one nailed it. The vanishing point, the leading lines, the triangles (I picked out 3). I saw you published an almost similar take of this on NatGeo but I particularly dig this one for that dog in the frame and the slightly more grunchy look here ;-) Really impressive and I am following you. You take the best landscape photographs <3

Thank you! I am re-processing all my shots prior to posting them on steemit and I didn't feel the need to crop Vinny out this time!

so inspired with your beautiful view thats awesome

I see Vinny!

This is such a stunning shot, filled with so many wows and beautiful that I don't want to embarrass you.

This just takes my breath away.

Upped and Steemed

Thank you so much! This was a quite the moment I am grateful to have been able to be there and take a photo of it.

That is actually nice of you

OMG - all we need is a rainbow and I'm ready to believe nature is a miracle.

That is a gorgeous road and landscape!

its really a great photo!)

wao ,its very beautiful dear ,very lovely view and weather

This is an amazing shot and edited to perfection.

My favourite part would have to be that you took this with a Canon T3i. That isn't a very expensive camera, a few years old now and any one looking to get into photography would be able to pick one up cheap. You've proven you don't have to have the latest and greatest gear to capture the moment to perfection.

So true! I have taken some amazing shots with an XTi as well. As long as the camera gives you manual options and allows you to put adjustable lenses on you can get a good picture.

Love the contrast between the foggy sky and road and rocks.

Yeah I see your dog. I would have missed him if you didn't point him out.

This is a beautiful picture.

He blends into the scene pretty well!

That is so gorgeous! And I see Vinny!

Nice . I can hear it now..."stop the car, stop the car. I need to take a shot"

Great photo!

Stunning ! upvoted and followed. Please check out my post

I love the picture, but I have a question. Where were you mounted or stopped to take the picture? because you see that you were already out of the road, you rode on a tree? It's just curiosity, greetings.

Good question! I was standing on a boulder that is out of the frame.

This is just breathtaking. Everything was done with superb skill in perfect timing. ✨

And yep, I spy with my little eye Vinny! 😊🙈🐶

Stunning photography, captured right time, foggy weather.
