This is a 30 second long exposure shot at dusk near Scott Creek and Highway 1 in California. I got pretty lucky on this one. On my 3rd attempt at exposing I had cars go in both directions and fill my entire shot with both light trails in the 30 seconds my shutter was open. I did not expect that, but I'll take it. I am not sure if this beach has an official name, the creek dumping into it is Scott Creek. It is a popular surfing spot just north of the city of Davenport in Santa Cruz County.

That is awesome! It looks like a regular sunset, but then you have light trails. Wouldn't have called you could have gotten a thirty second exposure to look like this. Great stuff! Resteemed!

Thank you!

Luck with the cars and skill withvsuch an awesome capture

Thanks man!

You’re welcome

Nice shot! I just wonder your ND filter because it is very important in longexposure photos

I did not have one with me. I took this 15-20 mins after sunset so it was semi-dark out and used f/20 to help keep the light out.

It seems like 15-20 mins before sunset that's why I asked :)

I know what you mean, the sun light lingers over the ocean like that for a while after it goes down and it really comes out with a long exposure.

yeah yeah that's true

I really love the photo. Im just started on long exposure photography and i find it dificult to make a really good photo. Do you have any tips?

Use a tripod, a 2 second timer and expirment a lot.

Thank you!

Beautifully nuanced composition. This makes me want to pick up a motorcycle and ride. Love it, Brian. The colors are excellent.

Nice shot! Lines are going towards the sun :)

looks like an awsome drag strip

The light trails definitely give the shot an extra touch. Love it!
