Happy Hoodoos

in photofeed •  7 years ago

They seem to be basking in the sun and waiting for rain, There's not much else to do. These well seasoned Hoodoos are looking pretty good after millions of years of wear. Located in Arches National Park in Southern Utah USA. This place is well worth the visit!

Haha. That part gave me a good laugh. Not much for a mountain to do but kind of sit around for a while I suppose?

That looks like a neat spot! And.. Oh that's in Arches? Cool. I'll try to remember that.

That was some fun humor. I hope It made other people laugh as well. That's arches you would love up there, so many photo opp's. Thanks for the laugh!!!!

The Hoodoos look like a kind of pyramid created by nature, excellent photo.

Yes they are nice rounded shapes. Thank you.

Its good to appreciate, thank you.

Welcome sir.

So beautiful ...

Its nice that you like it, so thanks.

Absolutely incredible! MUST.GET.THERE. I have been meaning to do another trip to the Southwest. So many stunning landscapes. Beautiful capture.

The park is huge with so many attractions. I hope you can make it there and Moab is a fun little town.

Are they stones? They look like soldiers ... I have not seen that shape, they look funny. Very beautiful image, I would like to know the place.

Yes they are very old stones made of sand. The sand was deposited on bottom the of an ancient ocean, it then became solid over time maybe three hundred million years or so after that, 50 million years ago the Rocky Mountains pushed up out of the ground bringing the Colorado Plateau with it. This is the same Plateau that runs through Sedona. I think they look like soldiers as well. Thanks!

Interesting. Thanks Mr. Michael

Hoodoos! ... Curious name. They look like cones, and their orange color looks like traffic cones.😆
Feliz Fin de Semana!

They are very big cones, orange flavor. If you hollow them out they would make nice apartments. Just kidding. But thanks and have a good weekend!

Quite touching and artistic, it really seems that they were enjoying a sunny day. What beauty of image, it is impossible not to use the camera to focus them. I suppose the hoodoos in this part of the city extend a lot in this area.

These rocky features are just in a few areas of the park but there's a lot of them. Thanks for the compliment!
