I created this set of images a year ago on the northern California coast. I was inspired by the rocks on the coast. They reminded me of a moonscape or features from another planet. To accentuate the surreal effect I rested my camera on the rocks and shot from a low perspective. Using a wide aperture I was able to create a depth effect, making the landscape appear more vast than it really was. I would love your feedback on these compositions! Thanks for reading.

If it was not for the moon actually showing up in some of the shots, I might have been tricked into thinking you actually went there. Great series, I like the sobriety with which you presented it.

I considered leaving out the photos with the moon, but I thought it made them more beautiful. Thanks!

I agree, it certainly does.

It does look like it was taken from a different world. You also did good on the processing of colors, it made it more interesting. It's an amazing set of images, good job!

Thanks! I did some exposure blending on a few of the photos to get the full dynamic range that I was going for.
