I posted some of the other photos in this set in an earlier blog post: Ruby Beach Washington. It was a cold rainy day in the PNW as most days in early April are. Despite the rain however, there were quite a few people out enjoying the scenery and spending time with friends and family on the coast. I cropped these photos in a 4x3 ratio, and I've started to really enjoy this format, especially for vertical images. A 4x6 ratio in vertical format is very tall and in my opinion does not lend itself as naturally to as many compositions.

This piece of driftwood was actually quite small; not even as long as my hand. But because of the perspective I used, it appears much larger.

If you look closely on the right side of the photo you can see a green tent. There was a small group setting up their camp for the night while I was here.

Stocksy

I am preparing this set of photos for uploading to my Stocksy Portfolio tonight. I've been slacking in my efforts to edit, keyword and upload new content, and am hoping to be busy adding to my portfolio this summer. I've had a couple nice sales the past few days. It's a big boost when the landscapes and nature images I upload are licensed and used by clients in their projects. The content I shoot does not lend itself as well to stock photography as other categories do, but it has done well enough for me to make the time and effort I've put in, more than worth it. That being said, check out the link below in the footer to see my portfolio and please share it with any designers or marketers that you know!
