Hi all

Took this shot of a nesting puffin while lying down on the edge of a cliff in Látrabjarg in the Westfjords of Iceland. They are so tame and you can get really close.

You should have tagged this image with #bokeh as it's bokehlicous!

Plus who knew there were puffin in Iceland? Very cool :D

A stunning picture!
Really beautiful.
Iceland is so full of Amazing images and places. I was there in 2016, just after the puffins left! Although we did get to see the aurora :)
Thanks for the gorgeous share.

JEEEZ That's sharp! Great shot! I'm lacking in the tele-zoom category at the moment. Actually my longest is a 135mm, having just picked up an Olympus Micro 4/3rds I'm looking into getting something nice and long for exactly this kind of thing. Can't really justify the expense of the Canon options!

Yeah, this was the MK1 100-400 which i LOVE. I wish i could afford the new MK2, apparently its even better.

This is another real good one... https://steemit.com/animalphotography/@markangeltrueman/icelandic-puffin-portrait-animalphotography-entry

That is a crazy awesome range to have! Definitely something I need in the kit bag I think!

I'm missing 2mm in my kit.

I have the 10-22, 24-105 and 100-400 :)

Good range! I prefer primes really but between myself and I we're covered from 16-70 which is out most commonly used range, with 100 and 135 primes as well. Just realised the above was on a 60D so the effective focal length would be 584mm! There's some really good reasons to stick with a good APS-C sensor and the 1.6 crop is definitely one of them!

Oh, and I think the trick is not to look at the MkII! I made that mistake with the 24-70, tried out the MkII before buying then HAD to find the funds for the MkII instead of the MkI that I had originally budgeted for!

Wow! that's an awesome photo!
Iceland its high on my destination list! but... its pretty expensive, isn't it?
Look at this one: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3549120280390&set=a.3549118000333.2147542.1044063316&type=3&theater
Just a photoshop creation I did some time ago! :P

Couldnt see your link im afraid.. but in answer to your question, yes, Iceland is incredibly expensive. We spent 3 weeks camping and it was still one of the most expensive holidays we have been on!

Lovely Image Mark. I was fortunate enough to see one of these lovely birds on holyhead Island in Wales a while back. Didn't have a camera though and it was very far away unfortunately. One day I will have a view like this!
