The Lake of Death

Dusk at Geunang Geudong.
A dead lake located in Putim area, West Aceh.

Formerly this lake is often visited by local tourists, they boarded a pedal duck boat to enjoy the view of the lake, people selling food and there is also a local-style coffee shop. This is one of the alternative places for residents of West Aceh for the weekend. But since the last two years, this place looks abandoned by the visitors.

This location looks deserted because of rumors circulating in the community that there is a ghostly figure with a form of giant fish that come to haunt visitors.

Local people believe that ghost with the form of a giant fish is the keeper monster of the lake. From this rumor, the lake seems mysterious as the lake of death.

Formerly this place is often visited by local tourists.

Local residents enjoy dusk using by pedal duck boat.

The Lake of Death - I love the sound of it all. Has a very horror movie like sounding story and look. I'd watch the movie about the giant fish haunting and killing off tourists. Amazing photos!

I believe there is no such a monster in the lake @matajingga. To my opinion, there are peoples who doesn't like visotors come to that place. They are the spiteful peoples, envy and jealousy. People from the community around the lake may take advantage by selling food and baverages such as warung nasi or kedai kopi around the lake. The spiteful people hate that. Hence, they made the rumors, then as you see now, visitors abandoned the lake
