GoSEE - Kirra from Premier Model Management

in photofeed •  7 years ago

Kirra popped into the studio last month, we did some hair movement tests. We used a combination of a hair dryer from the front and a polyboard wafted from the back - seemed to work really well in the end. Let me know if you have any other techniques that work!

Lighting
Key light - Really high above camera, with a silver brolly
Fill light - 4ft Octa softbox behind me.
Black polyboard's either side of set

wow nice

Absolutely loving this photo session! Great model, great lighting, great editing.

Makes me want to get into studio photography even more. Playing around with the light as you please certainly has its advantages!

The second image is a really nice tactic I don't employ much in my shoots. Love the intimacy of how close the camera is. What other artists do you reference when you shoot? Or is it a self-invented style?

Thanks! I shoot a lot of beauty work commercially so I guess that shows through a lot of my work. I studied under a bunch of London based photographers when I was learning my trade, and I'm still inspired by them - Main ones being Simon Emmett, Ben Hassett, and also Patrick deMarchelier (although I only worked for him a handful of times).
