How a river created a small nature paradise in Upper Swabia - Wie ein Fluss in Oberschwaben ein kleines Naturparadies schuf [EN/DE]

Hey Steemians,

Today I want to share with you a little paradise in my homeland in Upper Swabia. A small nature fun pool which was formed by the river Schussen. 🌊

Only when Upper Swabia finally became ice-free about 12,000 years ago the river Schussen finds their way south to Lake Constance. The large difference in slope of 80m between a distance of only 10km led to the fact that in a short time a very distinctive valley cut with steep slopes and narrow valley floor has formed - the Schussentobel was built. 🌅

To lay the rails for the railway in 1848, the workers had to intervene very intensely in the natural space Schussentobel. The course of the river was laid and straightened and the marshy ground was drained. 🚃

The straightening of the river Schussen shortened the running distance in this section by about 20%. As a result, gradients and erosion power increased significantly. Within a short time, the straightened river cut again into the rocky ground and thus created the 5-6m deep nature fun pool, the Felsenbädle (rock bath). 🌊

After heavy rains, the nature fun pool Felsenbädle has always been a popular place to recover from the stresses of everyday life and to cool down. 👍 😊

oh long exposure photos! lovely photos again @mindscapephotos!

Thank you :)

Beautiful photos you do @mindscapephotos!
Loved this post you did a month ago I just
found! Mystisches Stein Symbol im Wald entdeck!
Wow what a cool place!

River Schussen, is the rock hanging over travertine?
These photographs are very lovely!

Years ago I was over in southern Germany, very
beautiful country! Followed to see more,
resteeming for others to see also :-)

Thank you so much for your support @shasta.
The mystic symbol in the forest fascinated me also when I first saw them on Google Earth. So I need to explore them and found this beautiful stone labyrinth. Awesome! :-)

I think the rocks in the valley are made of sandstone and limestone.

Hope you enjoyed your time here in southern Germany.

I see you are also interested in photography, travel and abandoned stuff. Following back ;-)

Amazing photographs! Thanks for the post :)
