Daily Photofeed Round-Up #2

in photofeed •  7 years ago

Massive Growth!

Just three days ago Photofeed launched, and we already have almost 500 followers and 1,100 submissions using the #photofeed tag! It's incredibly exciting to think about where #photofeed will be in the next three days! Each day we resteem the best of the best with the #photofeed tag, and will continue to do daily Photofeed Round-Ups of our favorite photos. Check out our Discord channel as well (link at the bottom).

We (@cryptoctopus, @jrue, @aweber, @yumyumseth) want to remind you of the basis of our project, and what to expect from it.

  1. Up to 5 resteems every day showing off and rewarding the top content posted to #photofeed.
  2. A daily wrap up post highlighting and rewarding the 3 best photos from the previous day.
  3. 1 weekly post to congratulate our favorite photo of the week.

For all of these posts we will be paying out one half of the of the earned SBD to the featured photographers. The rest of the earnings will go to increase the rewards for future votes.

Here are our 3 favorite posts from the second day of PhotoFeed:

Our primary goal is to publicize the great artists behind the photos, so go show @pcusine @vmoldo and @adonisabril some love!

If you haven't heard of PhotoFeed (or even if you have), our goal is to promote and reward the best photography on Steemit.

Here's how you can get involved:

  1. If you’re a photographer, use #photofeed as a tag. We’ll look at every photo posted there.
  2. Join our curation trail at steemauto.com to help reward amazing photography. (steemauto is having some issues right now, hopefully it will be operational soon!)
  3. Follow us at @PhotoFeed to see the best photo content on Steemit.

If you would like your image removed from this post, leave a comment below (you will not receive any rewards if your image is removed).

Nice picks dude.

I'm new to Steem and was getting frustrated looking for great images from talented eyes so y'all came to the rescue in the nick of time. Thanks for the re-Steems and round ups as that kind of curation helps feed my hungry vision. Also, thanks for the note about steemauto as I had a bunch of trouble with it when I tried to connect. This is a really cool solution for photo curation and I'm happy to be along for the ride. I'll start using the hashtag next week when I also have enough Steem Power to spread some love to all you shutterbugs. Have a great weekend, everybody!

Just to confirm... is there any requirement in using the #photofeed tag? Obviously it has to be photography, but does it have to be a professional photo or just really, really, really good?

Yeah dude, as long as it's a really great photo it has the possibility of being chosen. Essentially #photofeed is trying to be a much cleaner higher quality tag than the current photography tag.

Thanks dude!
I'll see what I can drum up in the really, really, really great photo department.

Sweet. Also, see what you can guitar up too!.... Sorry

What about trumpeting up? Can we trumpet up, as well?

Did we just become reddit?

Reddit just became us.

We’re too unbecoming.

So, is it better not to use the tag until I can bring really really really good photo?

Or unless the subject is really, really ridiculously good looking.

Hum... well, then I'd better not to use it and stay in #photography because my photos are still crappy in anyway. Thanks! :)

Very Interesting.
I feel glad that you make it true and You really picked the best Photos.
Keep it up

Photofeed is up and running.
Nice guys,, You are getting a lot of popularity in a very short time.

I'm not surprised, there's no nicely curated photography on steemit - it's mostly garbage or horrible.

Wow thx for sharing this... Beautiful photographys! If u like follow and upvote me, i got interesting posts. Regards

This is such a great idea. I have been looking for a place like this to share photography. My style isn't the same as a lot of these.

Congratulations @photofeed, this post is the third most rewarded post (based on pending payouts) in the last 12 hours written by a Dust account holder (accounts that hold between 0 and 0.01 Mega Vests). The total number of posts by Dust account holders during this period was 12749 and the total pending payments to posts in this category was $4337.47. Nice Idea really appreaciatable!!

Awesome photo

This sounds like a great project to support and be involved in . I've not found it easy to get viewing figures with photography, despite fairing ok in some of the contests.

From what I see and gather though, plagiarism is the bane of photographers and photography lovers, and is the one main thing that scares off the more powerful upvotes, for the good reason that nobody wants to pay rewards to 'content thieves', and although any genuine photographer will be verifiable, we can't expect a big to huge fish to take time out of what is probably a busy day to check the credentials of the photographer of every photograph that they like. Anyone who repeatedly upvotes a good proportioned reward to every photograph that strikes them, without running checks, is certainly going to be paying out an element to scammers and thieves.

Bearing that in mind, have you any innovative ideas to help alleviate this issue and therefore give the viewer more faith that it is the actual photographer who took the photograph that they're paying out of the reward pool to?

That has to be the game changer regarding photography here at steemit, but I can't think of an easy answer. I curate/moderate for two respected facebook 'street' photography groups, and even with no financial incentives/rewards, we still have to occasionally deal with photo thefts.

I feel it makes things a lot more difficult for photographers to get noticed here in steemit land, even if they are worth their salt(rewards).

Photo theft affects every photographer, not just the photographer who's work is stolen, as it affects the 'trust' in 'the photograph' itself.

Investors, being the wise shrewes they are, they're not in the habit of investing in something that can't show them any validity.

So I'm always wondering, how do we regain the trust for 'the photograph(er)'? Undeniably one of the most important and infrormative mediums one could ever dream up, but unfortunately, in our astoundingly good and advanced technical age, photographs are still so easily stolen from us.

It'd be great if you did short interviews with each of the featured artists in these posts so there are some quotes and/or more info on how they created their images and why. @adonisabril, I'd love if you shared some of your technical setup and post production to make that shot. Thanks!

We'll hopefully be doing some interviews at some points along the way, but likely not for every day! One option would be to go comment on @adonisabril original post, that way they'll be sure to see your question.

Awesome, thanks!

Yay! thanks a lot for the feature! I'm so glad you like my foto! This is an awesome project!
