You would not believe your eyes.
Introduction
Hello guys! Raymund Bumagat here and today, I am going to share you an image that caught the attention of my followers in Instagram.
But first. . . .
I would like to give thanks to all of you who followed me, up-voted my posts, commented and guided me here in my journey in SteemIt. Today marked the 4th day since my account got approved and I still cannot believe that I am blogging, telling stories and at the same time, sharing my knowledge and art to you guys which I am really passionate about.
So!, Let's get started with my 4th post here in SteemIt.
The Dead End
Have you ever had a shot where you know that it will turn out great after post processing?
Have you ever felt bad about it because even if you edit it, it does not really tell something?
This is what I experienced with this specific photo that I will be showing you later on in this blog.
The Story...
One day, me and my team are going to cover a hotel in Tagaytay called Taal Vista. We are going to take pictures and videos of their food, rooms, places and events inside. In exchange? We are going stay there overnight, with free buffets, rooms, and all access to their hotel.
Now, we already covered the food, and some of the events happening inside. The team decided to go outside where we can see Taal, Skyranch and the shining stars.
While everyone is busy, something caught my attention, I saw a candle jar above the table and it is already lit ( I literally looked at it for 1 whole minute ). While I am looking at it, I am already composing an image inside my head and yes! I got an idea.
I remembered that I also brought my fairy lights with me ( the one that is being used by Brandon Woelfel on most of his photos ) and in the other hand, I also have my newly bought Canon FD 50mm f1.4 lens ( I already imagine the insane bokeh that I will get coz... that's f1.4 everyone! That's every newly photographer would want to have! ) and hell yes I am so excited that time!
So I put the lighted candle jar on a flat surface where the Skyranch's "The Eye" can be seen in the background.
I also put the fairy lights around it, took a photo, and here's the result:
( Oh yesss! this is the SOOC: Straight out of the Camera Image! )
Can you even see it? I already had photographs like this before and I knew that this will become great in the post plus, look at those bokeh, C'moooon!
But. . . .
After I edited it for color grading. . . .
Somehow, I already liked it but I can tell in myself that there's something that lacks in the image.. It should look more magical and majestic.
My wittiness came through
I already gave up editing the picture and decided to call it a day.
I grabbed my phone, browse my Instagram and I saw many visualized photo that looks very dreamy and yet impossible.
I knew in myself that those kind of images was manipulated using Photoshop.
So here I am, opened the computer again, opened Photoshop and watched YouTube videos on how to use basic Photoshop tools for the next 2 hours.
I started to download free overlays on Internet of Moon and Fireflies, do some multi-layer editing in Photoshop and here's the result:
( Excuse the noise at background of the image, that's already the limit of my Camera's Raw file. )
Tadaaaaaa! Isn't it great already?
I decided to upload it immediately on my Instagram and captioned it "You would not believe your eyes~"
I captioned that since my final photo had Fireflies on it and it is also a song written and played by Owl City. This photo would make you say that, "I'd like to make myself believe!" ( I really hope you get my joke here lol ).
Many of my followers commented on the post, my friends and even my office mates said that this is one hell of a photo manipulation. See my Instagram post here.
Good bye and Thank you!
As you can see, I uploaded an Orange and Teal photo again, just in case you missed my tutorial on how to do orange and teal, just click the link.

Now you are not just a photographer but a real deal story teller. Keep it up, pangarap ko din talaga magkaroon ng f1.4, yan madalas gamit nina Brandon Woelfel at Jessica Kobbeisse eh. So kakalimiutan ko na muna cguro ang kape. Ahahahha. Ipon pa more.

HAHAHA! Every photographer's dream lol. Pde ka naman bumili ng mga 3rd party lenses and or vintage lenses and just use manual focusing. Di hamak na mas mura yun :)

Sabagay, pricey talaga yung lens na yun. Nakakaiyak lalo na at walang budget.
