I've taken the time to center myself with a focus unparalleled. It's through consistent, small efforts. I am open to mistakes, yet as I pursue greater independence, I realize that my hesitations are nothing in the face of reliance on the self. I can deliver, as many have before, through reading the collective experience. Their words run along like shadows behind my figure, a similar yet unique and personal definition of their person. I can only persist, because the film sits, expired yet unexposed like a ripened fruit. It has a flavor all its own, unseen and unbeknownst to the naked eye. That intimacy of uncertainty and potential I flirt with; the delight and curiosity with a new technique; the pride and accomplishment of delivering a portrait of one through my perspective.
