Toying with the anamorphic format [part 2]

in photofeed •  7 years ago

After my first post about my anamorphic journey I started creating filters and experimenting with them outside.

FB 22April-1944-Edit.jpg

This first one is shot with my 50mm lens around the sunset. I only had the cardboard cutout so no flaring is happening but I love how a simple piece of black paper can change completely the look of the bokeh and make it looks so analogic

And this second one was shoot using ana 80-200mm lens with the cardboard cutout on the back element. Placing it here it's a bit harder because you have to align the whole to be perfectly vertical when shooting and every tilt will create a less pleasing effect. Also while shooting like this you have to keep it horizontal since if you have the bokeh lines the other way it will look like motion blurred image:))

Next time i'll add the fishing line to my filters and try to get some nice anamophic flares

if i got it right it has to go behind the back element? i have to try this

You ca try it both ways. It will have similar results. On the back it looks a loot neater but at the same time you cant adjust it during shooting

well it looks easier to put it on front, or even to put it behind the front lens on helios 44. interesting :)
and you have to have in the mind the aspect ratio, maybe magiclantern has it.

I wouldn't kniw about magic latern. Im on nikon
