ABOUT THE PHOTO

Just your standard, run of the mill milky way way photo over the Great Salt Lake. You're looking at Salt Lake City directly below the core of the milky way with Ogden to the left.
Shot on the A7RIII, 16mm, ƒ/2.8.

RULES & HOW TO PLAY

The metadata objective for this picture is to be the closest in your guess of the ISO.

  1. The closest and quickest (most exact) guess will win the prize!
  2. Only one guess per person.
  3. No editing your guess - you have to commit!
  4. All metadata has been stripped from the pictures, so don’t bother looking for the EXIF!
We are not required to tell you what kind of camera was used, or what time of day the photo was taken at, or whether filters were involved (this adds to the mystery and the challenge!)
AFTER Submission
  1. Deadline is no earlier than Thursday. (The host may be flexible but no earlier than 72hrs from posting)
  2. Winner will be announced in this post.
  3. Rewards are transferred to winners about 1-2 times a week.

REWARDS

  • 1 SBD to winning guess

Beautiful photo. I want to say 3200, but it’s already guessed. So I’m going to go with 25600. Maybe I’ll get lucky! 🤞🏼

Congrats @poyim! You were the closest guess. It was actually shot at 32,000 ISO. I was doing some ISO invariance tests on my camera to see if the noise is the same when shot at everything from 800 to 32,000, and it is, well at least the luminance noise. I found that the photos had more color saturation and certainly better dynamic range when shot at lower ISO (800-3200). But I can comfortably say that I'd have problem shooting at 32,000 ISO should the occasion arise.

Wow. I got lucky! lol. I would have never guessed it would be that high.
Thanks!

I would say 3200 but its taken so I will go with a non standard 2400 !
