JACK MY STYLE - Photo Games Season 2, Week 2, Game 2

in photogames •  7 years ago

Win points from each Photo Game Star’s post by “Jacking” their style!!

But first, you still have plenty of time to play Metadata Monday and guess the focal length!

So, for this contest you are challenged to try to recreate a certain style or kind of picture as presented by each Photo Star. For my edition of the contest I'm going to use a couple pictures as examples that I took recently and that have some similarities. I like playing around with the use of natural light combined with harsh shadows in portraits, and both of these were taken using natural light coming through a clear window. Neither of these pictures are edited particularly much, so my challenge is to create a portrait that is using natural light and shadows in an interesting way. Your picture doesn't have to be exactly like mine, but should at least have a somewhat similar style and feel. It can be a self-portrait or a picture of someone else, and if you already have a picture taken in the past that is similar then feel free to use that as well (i.e. it doesn't need to be taken this week). I realize that's fairly open ended, but I like variety, so I'm going to leave it at that and am excited to see what you come up with!

P.S. If you can't tell from these pictures, I'm a sucker for light hitting eyes in a way that make eye colors pop!

Hi Seth, here's my entry:

You can't see the eyes in my shot obviously but this is a photo taken just a few days ago on our last family trip where my son and I were playing with the natural light and shadows caused from our camp fire.

I was glad for the challenge of shooting with shadows, something I normally don't use.

Yasssssss. Here's mine.
