Late last year me and my family filled the holiday at Suhom Waterfall. In addition to the journey of exciting, the natural scenery that is displayed before the location was very beautiful.
Suhom Waterfall is located in the village of Suhom, Lhoong District, Aceh Besar. Other names of Suhom Waterfall are Lhoong or Krueng Kala. This waterfall has a water source from a hill with a spill of 20 meters high. The position of this waterfall is located in the middle of beautiful natural scenery and beautiful.
The waterfall is divided into three levels, but you are not allowed to go up to level two and three, for safety reasons because high-voltage power plants are there. There is a microhydro power plant in this Waterfall and is operated to supply electricity to over 200 heads of families and villagers of Kreung Kala. Suhom Waterfall is surrounded by many Durian trees. When the harvest season begins, many seasonal durian sellers will display Durian fruits of various colors and shapes and the aroma of the fragrant fruits. Dozens of durian trees stand erect among the valleys near Air Tejun. If you visit Lhoong at the end of the year during the durian season, you can also enjoy the pleasurable pleasures of nature and culinary tours. Indeed, you can eat durian while bathing in Suhom Waterfall.
If we feel hungry or thirsty after bathing, there are many food stalls to snacks to replace lost energy or release fatigue. Durian season also attracts many visitors from other areas such as North Aceh, Pidie, Pidie Jaya, Bireun and Banda Aceh city.
Before arriving at the waterfall, the local visitors usually stop by to buy Durian where the durian tree is abundant. During the durian season in November to January each year.
In addition, in this waterfall, there is also a location that can be used for camping. To reach this place, you have to pass the up and down route with views of Mount Paro and Kulu. Along the way, do not be surprised to see many Monkeys roaming the streets. These monkeys usually ask for fruit or other snacks from people passing by the side of the road.
Location Suhom Waterfall is estimated 75 kilometers to the west of Banda Aceh or about 3 kilometers from the main road of Banda Aceh-Calang, about one hour away by public transport or car. This road passes the beautiful Lampuuk Beach, Lhoknga Beach, and Leupung District.
