Weird things you don't see everyday

As I wandered through the park, trying to photograph something interesting, i saw from distance some weird things in the water. First I photographed the young couple, under the bridge....

After I approached and then there was!

The magic green balls!

Looking all like little green brains in the water. Lovely. I just enjoyed for the moment the mixed colors of the autumn. Mother Nature gives us all we need to have our colorful Heaven, right here, on Earth.

So i took some pictures and then i found out that those little green brains are the fruits of the Maclura pomifera, commonly known as the Osage orange, which is a tree.
The distinctive fruit, from a multiple fruit family, is roughly spherical, bumpy, 8 to 15 centimetres in diameter, and turns a bright yellow-green in the fall. The fruit is typically not eaten by humans and rarely by animals.

Hope you enjoyed!
