You surely know that Indonesia was once colonized by Japan for 3.5 years. During the colonial period, the Japanese used the cave for defense and ammunition.
The cave is indeed a natural cave and there is also an artificial cave built by the people of Indonesia when they apply Romusha forced labor.
Currently the caves are still there and some are used as a tourist destination even though horrible.
