Episode 5

     Her heart skipped a beat, it was as if the world stopped moving,they were so engrossed in what they were doing that they didn't notice her run out of the room. She thought heartbreak happened to bad girls who cheat and in nollywood films only,she didn't stop crying as she entered the cab, the passengers kept exchanging curious glances but she was too hurt to care.She could not stop cursing Segun in her head, after all she did to please him, sadness was what she got in return.Chisom was wrong she thought,there is nothing a woman can do to keep a guy, what would keep them has not yet being invented.She walked around the hostel, she was too disturbed to enter, she sat on one of  the love chairs erected infront of their hostel, tears continued to fall from her eyes as she saw lovers romancing and cuddling, her heart ached, this was what she wanted, all through her life this was what she had always yearned for,she wanted a guy who will be like her brothers;caring, affectionate and loving. She broke down in fresh tears

"Sorry, I have been noticing you for a while"a guy said sitting across her.she looked up her eyes red and swollen "hey"she croacked."I have been observing you, you know whatsoever is happening right now doesn't worth your tears"he said patting her hands affectionately.

She continued to look at him gloomly."Say something"he urged.

"I don't know how to start" she said tears raking her body."Awwn baby!stop stop crying"he said embracing her. She moved her body away from him"don't touch me please"she said quietly. He moved away from her returning back to his seat.

"Atleast you have to say something, we all have our problems and they say a shared problem is half solved"he said looking at her closely.She looked up to him and started crying again, she managed to narrate the story amidst tears and hiccups.

"Wow,wow, I don't know what to say" he said returning to her side.

"You can't know na,aren't you all the same thing"she waved her hands up and down" birds of a feather" she said tears flowing down her face.

   He pulled her closer and placed her head on his chest, he rocked her as she continued to cry, he rubbed his hands up and down her back,petting and saying soothing words.

"Hey thank you", she said after few minutes." I feel so stupid right now"she covered her face shyly.He laughed out loud "I can see you are better now".she smiled "I am Adenike" she said stretching out her hands.

"Ayodele"he shook her hands

"So can I invite you to my church?"He said,bringing out a flyer "we would love to have you on sunday, the service promises to be interesting"he added. She looked at him interestingly "oh kay, who do we have here"she said sizing him up and down.

"Lol, I know right, you were not expecting that from me"he said amusingly

"Yeah, you get that shit"

"Will don't judge a book by its cover"

"See you on sunday then"he replied, pulling her up "I want to see you walk inside before I leave" he added.

Nike's heart felt light as she walked towards her hostel, she glanced back to wave goodbye.

Rita's voice welcomed her as she entered, she wiped her face and plastered a fake smile on her face, Rita hugged her immediately she entered."Denike, guess what?"She asked grinning at her.Adenike was surprised she wasn't expecting this kind of attitude from Rita,"you got a new phone?"She answered.Rita shook her head "no you are very wrong, I am inlove with Segun" she screamed.Nike's legs felt weak,she was lightheaded she quickly moved to the nearest seat, it was as if her heart was ripped open one more time."Are you okay?"Rita moved closer to check her temperature."Am fine, I just felt weak" she answered putting her head on her reading table.

"I have told you to always eat, shey you want to die young ni"Amaka asked

Nike looked away,she wiped the tears that threatened to fall

"Anyways, you guys should get prepared, we are all going out tomorrow"Rita suddenly screamed.Amaka joined her, running around the room.

"I don't think I would be chanced"Nike said quietly

"Why won't you, infact you must because I want you to meet one of Segun's friends"Ruth answered

Nike sat quietly on her bed thinking about tomorrow would bring.

 She dragged herself up reluctantly the following morning, her night was filled with terrible nightmare that involved Segun in one way or the other.She didn't feel like going to school,she just wanted to sleep all day.She hurried to the bathroom when she noticed she was feeling pressed, she took her bathing items along so she could just take her bath at the same time.Nike let out a painful scream as the urine poured out."Are you okay?"Her roommates rushed to the bathroom.She sat down on the closet set holding her private part "yh I am fine"she managed to answer.

"Oh kay o, sha take care"She closed the door after them and tried to urinate again, the same pain reoccured.She sat up immediately, she wondered what was happening,she still peed last night before she slept , so what happened in the course of the night.

 She took her bath and didn't try urinating again.

"Nike no forget say na tonight o"Rita shouted as She left for school.
