MILAN - Inter Milan swallow the first defeat in 2017/2018 season. Entertaining Udinese at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza last weekend, Inter were humiliated by a score of 1-3.
Not to get out of disappointment, other bad news has come to the I Nerazzurri. According to Italian media reports, there was a rift between Suning Group and Erick Thohir as President of the Club.
Reportedly the Suning Group disappointed because it gets rejected about 30 percent acquisition of shares that still owned by Erick Thohir. Therefore they are reluctant to disburse fresh funds when the winter transfer market opens, next January 2018.
Responding to this news, Erick Thohir immediately explained the real conditions. Indonesian businessman who is also Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Asian Games 2018 (INASGOC) stated that there is nothing strange about his relationship with Suning Group. "Our relationship remains smooth, we have met several times both in China and in Milan," he told Goal, which is loaded by Italian Football. "Everything is still okay The news circulating in the last few days is simply not true," he asserted.
On the same occasion, Erick also discuss about the performance of Luciano Spalletti as team coach. According to the former AS Roma coach has been working very well even though last weekend Inter failed to continue the positive trend. "Spalletti? He's done well, now we just need to consistently consolidate positive results to achieve targets," he said. "The competition is in the middle of the season and Inter still occupy the top of the standings.With the four Italian teams who play in the Champions League next season, I am very optimistic we can achieve this target," he concluded.
For a while Inter stand in the top three standings. Mauro Icardi Cs has 40 points, one point difference from Juventus and two points from Napoli.
