Original Photographs Taken May 2013 in Sicily, Italy.

This is a photograph of a WWII era bunker. A surprising number of these Bunkers still dot the landscape of Sicily. This particular one can be found on the route from Ragusa to Marina Di Ragusa in Sicily. This piece of history is now part of a farmers field. It once sheltered soldiers in war but now has a peaceful existence hosting a nightly array of field animals.

Another picture taken near Ragusa Sicily. This Hotel is long abandoned and located high up the side of a mountain. I was definitely stretching the telephoto capabilities of my lens.

The last photo today was taken in Catania, Sicily. Catania is the second largest city in Sicily and is situated at the base of the Active Volcano, Mount Etna. This is the flag of Sicily which proudly displays the Trinacria in the middle. The Trinacria is Triskelion featuring the head of Medusa in the middle, three bent legs and three wheat ears. In my opinion an awesome flag with tonnes of character!
