Shoot the rain!

Rainy day blues… What to do when you’re stuck at home or in the car, and it’s coming down cats and dogs? Make the best of the situation! Me – I like taking photos. So, have a look at my pics below.

These were taken through the glass of windows – my home window and my car windscreen or window. One can either focus on the subject outside or on the water droplets. Both can produce interesting results. Personally, I like focusing on the droplets, leaving the ‘subject’ outside a lil blurry.

So now you know what to do when the rain comes down! Have fun!! 🙂

Shot from the car as we were nearing the Thai temple outside Medan, Indonesia. I was trying to catch a shot before we got near since I couldn't walk outside in the rain. Somehow through the glass windows, I kept focusing on the raindrops instead... Well, it was a happy accident as I quite liked the result! Seen here edited with a colour reduction and added vignette.

Waiting in the car, in heavy rain, I pointed my mobile camera at the street light through the rain coming down my car window – makes for an interesting shot. I kinda think it reminds me of Christmas lights... :)

Main thing to remember – there are no rules on this – experiment and see what you come up with. And have fun!
