IMG-20191002-WA0110.jpgI am a coffee lover, my favorite food is Pasta (Spaghetti), my favorite dessert is Quesillo! Harry Potter fan! I am very Romantic and a dream fighter I don't give up until I get what I want! Here I bring you a small summary of my life:

My name is Adrián. I am 40 years old. I was born and raised in Barcelona, Venezuela. A tropical country with a very warm climate! I remember a childhood full of colors, among the green of the lush vegetation, the transparent blue of the sea and the affections of so many beloved people that made gray impossible The happy memories of my childhood They are associated with the great meals in which the whole family met: my parents, my grandparents, uncles, brothers, cousins, all sharing with Llanera Music, Latin Salsa, Calipsos and stop counting!

I graduated at the age of 15 and at that young age I had to start working to be able to help my family (Mother, Brothers) and be able to pay for my studies, since my parents separated! Between working and studying in periods of short periods since I had to stop studying at various occasions due to economic situations, I was finally able to graduate as a Computer Technician at age 30! After working 5 years with an international company all over my country and that is how I went to Valencia, and what started as A 3-year plan, it lasted for 6 years!

Then I return to my city and that is where I meet a person who would change my life completely who is currently my wife and the love of my life known to all my family and friends for Luly! She at that time had a different vision of life and goals to fulfill her main objective was to move to Spain (Madrid) and mine was to continue holding hands together and fulfill them! Months before that long-awaited trip my Father fell in a wheelchair product of a Prostate Cancer and had branching it in the spine leaving him unable to walk, after months of struggle to try to save his life, he dies in January 2017 ! In March of the same year my wife embarks on her trip to Spain and a month later I do the same but to a different country Peru since I economically did not have the resources to go with her! It is there where I begin a migratory life, where the change of residence has become something natural for me.

The reasons why we decided to undertake a migration project are very different. We seek a change in life and each one has his own reason, his own motivation and his own dream and, those dreams, are also very different. It can be a better job, an opportunity to study, a love, freedom or, one day without having to flee the bombs. Migrating is a human right. Migrating is growing. Migrating is contributing from diversity.

When I arrived in Peru specifically to El Callao neighborhood, Lima !, which I arrived through Contact from a Venezuelan friend, who rented me a room in a shared flat with my brother Abraham, this was my first experience living in another country and sharing the house with people other than my family. I remember the first day I toured this neighborhood, shops and supermarkets were full of food things that I no longer saw in my native country since in Venezuela it is in an economic crisis for 20 years! Living as a foreigner represents facing several challenges. I recognize that, as a migrant in Peru, I did not have so many difficulties since I got a job immediately!

The difficulties I faced 9 months later when in December 2017 when I traveled to Spain (Madrid) to meet my wife and friends who became my brothers through time Javier and Carol a couple with whom we shared a flat and many of our emotions, achievements and failures, I finally arrived at a Great City never seen before that I fell in love with! Knowing the supermarkets, local fruits and vegetables, the different ways of calling things and feeling another way of living the "otherness" of being a foreigner in another country, which allowed me to live new ways of conceiving immigration, its wealth and difficulties.

The days and months went by and I did not find a job, I had an interview and the man who attended to me simply said "you can't work because you don't have a work permit", which left me very sad for a few days, but that didn't He stopped me and I kept looking. I was between months of work in black (papers without papers) until at the end after 1 year and 7 months I was able to work because I had a NIE with a work permit! but I was aware of the difficulties that a foreign person may have and the multiple categories that exist to name us: “foreigner”, “non-community foreigner”, “illegal immigrant”, among others. Each one is associated with other labels and stigmas: "poor", "moro", "sweat", "African", "panchitos" that enclose you in a limited description of which you always try to leave as if it were a fight that never ends . Being part of the "otherness" allowed me a knowledge of myself and my codes that I would not have had if I had never left my place of origin. Being aware of my language and the ideas that a person has from their place of origin.

In Difinitivo, migration has changed my way of seeing life differently! Thanks to my wife and my family for supporting me in every step I take. I know that many positive changes will come for us and I have the faith and certainty that they will be so!
