Abel Tasman National Park is the smallest National Park in New Zealand. Despite its size, the park houses the most popular tramping track in New Zealand: the Abel Tasman Coastal Track. Because I had already done a fast amount of tramping in New Zealand, I didn't want to do the Coastal Track. Instead, I hired a kayak for a three-day kayaking adventure along the coast of Abel Tasman National Park. That was great decision which I can highly recommend! Abel Tasman National Park and the wildlife encountered enroute are absolutely breathtaking!
By the way, Abel Tasman National Park is named after Abel Tasman. In 1642, he was the first European explorer to sight New Zealand.
