This beautiful plant Valeriana Jatamansii Jones is very much useful for medical usage and has long history in making Ayurveda medicine here in Nepal. Locally we call it Sughandhawal (Sugandha mean : Fragrance and wal mean: with or having it). Available: 1500-3500m( Most of the part of hilly and mountainous district of Nepal)
Parts used are Rhizome, root and leaves.
Medical Benefits: Hysteria, Headache, Cholera, blood pressure, nervous disorder etc. This is also widely used to make perfumes because of good fragrance in its root.
