Cow is a very useful and livestock animal

There are many kinds of animals in the world.Of them, the cow is the most useful.The cow is a four-footed domestice animal.She has a long big head with two eyes, a pair of ears and a pair of horns.Her body is covered with short hair.She has a long tail with a tuft of hair at the end.She has no teeth in upper jaw.Her hoofs are cloven.

There are many kinds of cows.Some are big in size and some are small.The cows of the cold countries are very big in size.There are wild cows in some forests of the world.Some cows are red, some are white and some are of mixed colour.

The cow is found everywhere in the world.The cow lives on grass.She eats straw, bran, green leaves of trees, oil cakes etc.

By nature the cow is gentle.But she kicks when she is teased.She is a bit ferocious when she gives birth to a calf.That is because of her fondness of her calf.She gives birth to a calf at a time.She eats all day long till her big belly is full.At her leisure she chews the cud.

The cow is very useful.She gives us milk and meat.Milk is an ideal food.Many kinds of sweets are made from her milk.She draws the cart and the plough.Faeces and cow-dung are good manure.

Cow-dung is used as fuel also.Bags, shoes etc.are made of her hide.Combs, buttons and handles of knives and forks are made of her bones and horns.

The cow is a valuable asset to us.So, we should take care of her.
