Onions are cultivated extensively in Bangladesh and are in high demand. Almost every Bangladeshi dish requires onions. To cultivate onions, seedlings are purchased from the market and planted in the soil. They need to be watered and fertilized with organic matter. Care must be taken to protect the plants from being eaten by cattle. After some time, the onions are harvested from the soil and then dried in the sun before they can be consumed.
