This is the story of my backpacking tour across Spain in the month of August 2017, the is the second part of the blog.I traveled across the Andalusia region of Spain - started off with Caminito del Rey walk followed by Seville to Cordoba to Granada to Murcia to Valencia to La Tomatina festival back to Valencia and then to Barcelona. If you are interested you can check out the first part :Spain Travelogue || Caminito del Rey. In this part I will take you visually across the beautiful Andalusian city of Seville. Some cities have looks, other cities have personality. The sevillanos – lucky devils – get both, courtesy of their flamboyant, charismatic, ever-evolving Andalucian metropolis founded, according to myth, 3000 years ago by the Greek god Hercules. Drenched for most of the year in spirit-enriching sunlight, this is a city of feelings as much as sights, with different seasons prompting vastly contrasting moods: solemn for Semana Santa, flirtatious for the spring fiesta and soporific for the gasping heat of summer.
We loved the beautiful twirling narrow streets of Seville, with quirky food joints, beautiful graphic art on the doors of building.
We next went to Plaza de España, Seville:
Plaza de España (Spain Square) is one of the places that you must visit when visiting Andalusia.Plaza de España is located in the middle of Maria Luisa Park, in the city center. The square has a fountain in the middle, rounded for a small lake and a building behind it that gives a traditional style to all the place. The next place we went from there was Alcázar of Seville, The Alcázar of Seville is a royal palace in Seville, Andalusia, Spain, originally developed by Moorish Muslim kings.
Just outside the compound of the Alcazar there was Seville Cathedral, its such a beautiful structure. We could not enter as there was private marriage ceremony that was being held, took some dramatic shots of the architecture from outside none the less.
Next we came across the bridge connecting the old city to the new one
Our last stop for the day was Metropol Parasol, it is a wooden structure located at La Encarnación square, in the old quarter of Seville, Spain. It was designed by the German architect Jürgen Mayer and completed in April 2011.
