The first time I was ever proud of my work

Have you ever thought about why you are where you are now? I certainly have, and I think it's all because of the feeling from when I took that shot. My photography adventures started years ago, and I didn't even think a photograph could impact me so much, you see, I am a filmmaker, and I always dreamt of creating experiences that are bigger than myself, and I always thought It would take a lot of careful planning, days of work and a huge production. I created standards for myself that I could never ever reach.

From the moment I got my first own camera, that old Nikon D3100 from times I have long forgotten about, up to the day where I took this shot with my then brand-new GH4 I always found my work lacking, something was off whether it was the framing or the focal lengh, I was never happy with any of my shots.

But there it was, some pretty good framing, intense colors and finally (!), an actual atmosphere in the shot. Never before have I felt so proud of what I created that day.
It motivated me to keep pushing myself up to this day. I wasn't afraid of filming the first assignment ever, or being nervous about showing my class at school what projects I had running at the time, cause I knew that if I kept focussing on getting better, learning my stuff and being critizised for it, I will someday create another frame that will make me happy, if it's moving or still, I wanted to fulfill that dream I had. And now, years later, I can look back to that moment and pinpoint it as the start of my career. Herbsteule-1100023-2.jpg
