IR Photography: The Heron.

in photography •  6 years ago

This shot isn't necessarily my best, but the contrasts between the "darkness" of the pond water and the grass appearing so vibrant as if it was on fire really took me a bit. Was the only shot I could get of the heron before he buggered off too - the camera I am using does not have much zoom, so I had to get really close. Plants appear super weird under IR light, really "white" and bright.

Photo was taken with a modified Panasonic DMC-TZ10 with the IR filter removed, and an IR-pass filter mounted to the lens on front. No post-processing was done, the image is as-is directly from the cameras SD card.
