Scarlet Sails

in photography •  8 years ago

In St. Petersburg there was a holiday called "Scarlet Sails" on the night of 23 to 24 June. This holiday in honor of the school graduates of St. Petersburg. The holiday begins with a concert at the Palace Square. The holiday ends with a colorful water-pyrotechnic show. I'm happy to share photos that my friend sent me.

The fire work show is beautiful with the sun set in the background.....Mother Natures beauty is trying to compete with mans created beauty.

Thank you! You have added details to the description of photos

Was that to honor a college of under grads, or a masters program....I wish I had that event at my graduation.

Wow. I've never been into photography, but since being on steemit (only a month) I find myself clicking on more and more post that have to do with photography. Then mix it in with exotic and interesting locations. I see why you have like what, a million followers! Count that as a million and one now.

I guess it's more up my alley than I realized. I should get busy with the photos. After all I'm the "World-Travel-Pro" on here. I've been living out of backpack for the better part of 10 years. I just have never been into tech, computers, photos...I'm just way into traveling. Between you and I and whoever is reading. Being on steemit is a huge tech/online social commitment for me!

I'm only 34 but I've had the attitude of an 80 year old conger with this stuff. Thank you for helping show how fun and ummmm, enlightening this platform can be.

I've started writing travel reports, from a budget traveler perspective. I've gotten a great response and my followers are growing fast. I don't do fluff. I tell it how it is. Actually my Panama report I just had no choice but to give it bad reviews. But Lake Atitlan, Guatemala got good review. Right now I'm writing you from Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Best place I've been to between Ecuador and Mexico over the past few months. Looking forward to writing a review on this place. Later today I'm doing a report on Medellin Colombia.

Anyway I'll be following you and looking forward to more post. Hope you find the time to check out my reports. Have a great day! World Travel Pro!

Sounds like a fun event your friends photos of it are glorious

Wow! That truly is the most beautiful city! And even more beautiful with firewirks!

I had an opportunity to visit St. Petersburg with a 60 meter yacht that I worked on for a short time in the Caribbean... didn't enjoy being on the bottom rung of an 18 person crew enough to tough it out though... Hopefully I'll make it over there in command of a similar yacht instead, now that my license has matured some.

Love photography. Seems its an original of time, never to be repeated. Great photos of time :))
