Your lead photo is really a great photo. The river gives you both and arabesque and strong leading line, and that leading line is mirrored and continued by the more subtle line of trees, these elements really draw the eye into the photo. On top of that the crisp details and perfect contrast really captures the vast beauty of this landscape.
