On this photo shoot we end up on the upper west side of the united states...but lets back up a little.
My interest in the Pacific Northwest was peaked as a fifteen-year-old. I played flight simulator multiplayer with an online community and the region we normally flew in was in Washington. There's a company "Orbx" who goes on location and develops true to life "scenery" for flight simulator and I fell in love with Washington and Oregon through that. I now recognize places when visiting because of the simulator, which is really cool and I definitely get way to excited when it happens.
In any case, I still love the PNW and often travel there for photo shoots. On this trip, I worked with Erin from Option Models. We set out from Portland for a day trip to Cannon Beach in hopes of a great sunset however by the time we arrived it was completely clouded over. Photoshoots always seem to be a test of your ability to adapt.
I styled this shoot myself with a bunch of vintage clothing I found at an awesome vintage shop in Portland.
Erin is a great young woman and a fantastic model who is super easy for me to work with because she knows how to move so well.
We were losing light so I used an iPhone flashlight to light her face and achieved the sparkle effect with a Hoya star filter.
Thanks for reading, would love to hear your input or answer any questions someone might have about my work etc.
Cheers,
Amos
