Hello friends! Travel with me! Russia.

Hello friends! Travel with me! By the beautiful country of Russia. I want to show you the temple, the Red Square, the area of the Supreme Economic Council. Large monuments

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Moscow

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior today is the Cathedral and in fact the main temple of Russia.

The idea of creating a monument in honor of the victory of the Russian people in the Patriotic War of 1812. The Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow is the largest cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church, accommodating up to 10,000 people. In terms of the cathedral was an equal cross with a width of over 85 meters. When visiting a shrine, it is better for women to be dressed in skirts and cover their heads with shawls.

I visited the temple together with my father and mother.

The Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow is more like a huge museum, the design of which tells us about the history of an entire era of the Russian state and the courage of its people. It is a memorial to Russian military glory, a monument to all those who "laid down their bellies for the Motherland".

Small rest on the bridge

Globe monument in Moscow, Russia

Attempts to know the universe the man never left. First of all, he learned to remember the location of the stars. Then the person formed a map of the constellations and began to try with their help somehow understand the directions. And only with the development of science did it come to understand what the universe is.

The telescope took pictures at a distance of one million miles from the Earth. Panoramic surveys are becoming very popular now, scientists now have a map of outer space.

Thus, the globe of the universe was formed. The resulting "globe" makes it possible to study galaxies from a different angle. The obtained data from the telescope "Plank" can be said to be priceless. A lot of time will pass before each frame is carefully checked and accepted. So we can only wait that NASA will suddenly open these data and the public will become more aware, maybe, even in textbooks, something will change.

The monument is located on the avenue of astronautics, at VDNH in Moscow.

One of the highest monuments of Moscow: a monument to the "conquerors of the cosmos"

A monument is located in the NEAD of Moscow, at the entrance to VDNKh. The idea to create a monument arose after the launch of an artificial Earth satellite.

Monuments to the Conquerors of Space

Monument to Tsiolkovsky

A stone monument to the founder of modern astronautics, the Soviet scientist Konstantin Eduardovich Tsiolkovsky is located on the steps leading to the monument of astronautics.

On the right knee lies a map of the starry sky, which he presses with his hand. Konstantin Eduardovich looks thoughtfully into the distance and as if he sees how a spaceship is carried away to the sky.

Area of VDNKh

Fountain of Friendship of Peoples at VDNKh

It was built in 1954. The length of the perimeter of the structure is 170 meters. In one second upward, 1200 liters of water are thrown out. But most amazing is not the grandiose dimensions, but the sculptural composition. In the middle of the fountain there is a giant sheaf of wheat, sunflowers and hemp grown in those years on collective farm fields for household needs. Everything is covered with gold leaf. At first the fountain was even called the Golden Sheaf, but was soon renamed. The sheaf is surrounded by 16 maidens in national costumes of the peoples of the republics of the Soviet Union.

Riddles of the golden girls

Every girl is a republic

All the girls wear national dresses of different people. 16 bright representatives of the external appearance of all 16 nationalities.

Another mystery is that women hold in their hands the agricultural plant that was most often grown in the fields of its native republic.

Finishers should not be gold. But, as the legend says, Stalin was surprised: "Do not we have enough gold for our girls?". And then Beria personally signed an order to allocate 3.5 kg of gold from the state depository for the application of gilding.

This is the brightest monument of the Soviet era. It reminds new generations of how their ancestors wanted to live in peace, and how they rallied after the hardships of the struggle against Hitlerite Germany. But such a victory, indeed, became possible thanks to mutual assistance, friendship and brotherly love between people of different nationalities.

Sculpture of four horses. Symbolizing four seasons.

Monument to Marshal Zhukov

Monument to the outstanding commander and hero of the Great Patriotic War.

The hero is portrayed on horseback, which tramples the hooves of the standards of Nazi Germany.

The total weight of the monument to Zhukov is 100 tons.

The Red Square is the altar of the fatherland, the main skating rink of the Motherland and, in general, the center of the world.

View of the Historical Museum, Moscow

Red Square is the main and most famous square in Moscow and Russia, the arena of many important events in Russian history and the history of the Soviet state, the place of mass demonstrations of the working people of the capital and the parades of the Armed Forces of Russia.

Some great overview of what Moscow has to offer. A long time ago I was at the Red Square. Your post reminds me of that again. As a true tourist I bought one of those thick hats right in the middle of the square :)

Thank you! Wow, I did not see where the hats are selling :)

Just someone walking around, but that was about 17 or 18 years ago? Maybe not allowed anymore. Is was in the evening while it was dark. Pffff, just remembered another time I was in Moscow, I came through Amsterdam from Africa with 35+ degrees Celcius and arrived in Moscow with -30 degrees Celcius. That was a shock to my body! Needed to run from car to hotel, since hurt on my body as if needles where pushed in, many of them.

Haha. My friend, if 17 years ago, I was great, and I knew you, I would bring you a fur coat :)
How old were you when you were in Moscow?
Next time you come, let me know, I'll bring you warm things :)

I was in my second half of my 20s back then :)
