There is a legend that when laying the foundation of the first Christian church, the wood was cypress.

In the world cypresses are found only in the northern hemisphere, the area of ​​their distribution includes the Mediterranean Sea, the Himalayas, the south of China and America from Guatemala to Oregon.

Like most conifers, cypress is a monoecious plant, and its cones ripen in the second year. Round cones of the first year are green, in the second year they become brownish-gray and under each weight contain up to 20 red-brown seeds, equipped with a wing. Fruitful cypress begins at the age of five.

Healing properties of cypress

Residents of the Mediterranean countries have long used cypress in medicine. The effect of heating cypress oil has been observed since time immemorial. Doctors and masseurs claim that it can bring all the systems of the human body into balance, restore the emotional state.
