Photos taken with Canon 5D mkiii, Canon 24-105 F4 L Series and Canon 430 EXii Speedlight

Kelly was helping our eldest daughter with her photography homework and I decided to take a few photos after they had finished doing their "Blue Swan" makeup. Let me know what you think!

nice pose but the camera doesn't look sharp

Always happy to hear any Feedback! I think any opinion on photography or art is quite subjective. The idea of playing with depth of field allows you to put the focus on specific parts of the image, in this case the eyes. this means that the area of focus will be sharp but other areas will not be but not by accident but by design. If you took the same photo at F11 you would see the same sharpness from front to back but the viewer would not be drawn to the part of the image that the photographer had intended in the same way. This would also make the photo look more like any snap that you could do on a phone etc. Thanks again for commenting though as so far I haven't had many comments on my posts.
