Bittersweet It Is

in photography •  6 years ago  (edited)

The Bittersweet berries are absolutely beautiful this time of year, however it is known for being destructive and very invasive vine.
I took these photos on my friends property yesterday. I have not as of yet spotted bittersweet growing on my own land...

-Google Search info-
"A word of caution — when left unregulated, established bittersweet vines will literally take over the landscape, smothering out native species of trees, shrubs and plantings. The tangled vines can also become so heavy that entire trees and plants may be uprooted once the bittersweet plant takes over."

Those are beautiful @annephilbrick Love the two-tone look and bright colors for this time of year too

Are they edible?

Hello @myjob
Not edible. Poisonous

howdy again annephilbrick! oh my gosh those things look great, too bad you can't eat them, I suppose the birds can though.
To take down a whole tree is amazing, in that regard they're kind of nightmarish!
