hello steemit, my name is anyi, I'm a graphic designer and photographer from Venezuela, and today I want to tell you a story.
In the world we live, everything is connected, it is difficult that any knowledge escapes our hands, but there is something you probably don’t know, a beautiful dog breed, that you can only find here in my country Venezuela.
This breed, I want all of you to know, is called MUCUCHIES, these beautiful big dogs are an exclusive breed from Venezuela. It was acknowledged as the autochthonous dog breed from my country because it can only be found here, but specifically this breed is from a wonderful and magical Andean zone called Merida Paramo. This place is the home of several marvelous things in Venezuela, and one of them are these magnificent dogs. They impress any person who have contact with them because of their voluminous big bodies and lovely nature
Standing on two legs this breed exceeds the height of an average person; their fur is thick and abundant and the head is quite big, not to mention their enormous paws, I guess it is like hugging a bear.
The mucuchies dog breed has a very interesting and peculiar story. During the years of the independence of Venezuela, Simon Bolivar, liberator of America, passed Merida Paramo with his army and he adopted one of these dogs, he called it NEVADO. This dog became his faithful friend, so the Spaniards once tried to kidnap his dog as a measurement of pressure to get to Bolivar. Luckily, the dog ran away. Nevado and Bolivar connection, loyalty and love was so great, that the courageous dog stood by Bolivar side during the battle of Carabobo, The battle that finally gave Venezuela its independence. Nevado lost his life fighting during that battle when a Spanish spear pierced him; the story said Bolivar disconsolately cried for the loss of his faithful friend.
Another story that I recently knew, it was about the beautiful ORINOCO (the dog in my pictures). When I saw him, I just sighed, I went to him and I hugged him. It is a moment in my life that I will never forget. I cried tears of joy just watching such a wonderful and beautiful creature, so big and majestic, but so kind and lovely. We found Orinoco in several touristic places in Mérida paramo, people took pictures with him, and people donated money to his owner to help to preserve a dog-breeding house for this specie.
My main intention with this article is to show all the community that my country Venezuela has so many positive things to exalt, I want to invite you all to visit Merida Paramo, to live one of a kind experience, to see, to touch, to hug this imposing dog that nature gave us. I ask for your support to keep showing you the hidden wonders from Venezuela, I can guaranty you that you will be surprised by all the things I have to tell you and show you…. Thank you so much
