This is one of my favorite shots I've taken. It's actually a HDR, so it's several shots.. I can't remember how many, between 3 and 6.
I only ever did a couple HDR in my life, partly because it's so difficult with film to line them all up in the scanner and get them to fit.. But even since I got the new digital camera for some reason I haven't done any HDR.. I'm not sure why, I tend to like HDR shots.. Perhaps I'm just too consumed with video. I dunno. Anyways.. Hope you like this one! I've sold a lot of this one over the years around Sedona.

This was taken on a Pentax 6x7, the mountain is called "Cathedral Rock" and it's in Sedona Arizona.

PS.. I grew up about 15 mins walking distance from here.. It's been a pretty amazing place to live! I'm very grateful.

Nice shot!
Looks like a beautiful place.
Thanks for sharing & Steem on!

Thanks jcsteem! I appreciate it. :) it is a beautiful place, you're welcome and same to you!

HDR is hard to do if you want to make it look natural and it looks like you did a pretty good Job of that. Ansel Adams was one of the best to perform this technique back in dark room days. This is my 3 photo HDR https://steemit.com/photography/@azfix/desert-bloom-barrel-cactus

Whoa.. I didn't know Ansel Adams did HDR? I thought it was a newer technique.. Interesting indeed! Thanks for the info and the thoughtful response and I will check out your link right now.

Amazing picture and it seems like a peaceful place!

Thanks tangmo! And yeah it really is! one of the quietest places in the US, well.. Sorta. Lol. Depends on where you are and what time of day, the planes can be pretty loud and annoying at times!

You're welcome! Thanks for providing more information about your places! ;)

What is HDR? I see it on my smartphone's camera but do not understand...

It means High Dynamic Range if I remember correctly. It basically sort of.. combines all the lights and darks together of the various images so you can really bring out a lot more information in the image, assuming it's not "too dark"..

So basically if you ever feel like your images are kind of washed out, or you're not getting as much color as you'd like, combining numerous different images together gives you a much wider range of color to work with.

Plus for some weird reason HDR shots often look more lifelike, not always.. But.. They often tend to make images look much more vivid and real. Hope that helps, I suggest googling for more information.

High Dynamic Range basically means you take 3 or more photos with different exposures and stack them to bring out the most details in the photo.
