#64 Chapel Rainbow 4x6 lab.jpg

Hey everyone..
First I wanted to say thanks for support yesterday when I shared my fathers image and it made around $100.
I had originally posted a picture the day before of his and tried to introduce him to the community and it made less than $2 and bummed me out.. And when I posted his other picture the other day, I wasn't necessarily trying to guilt trip anyone.. But I admit I was bummed that his post got lost when I see so much other junk that makes a lot of money and isn't nearly as valuable in my opinion.

So.. I wasn't meaning to create drama or whatever, but.. Due to the fact that you all did come through and ended up giving him a warm welcome the second time around.. I think it's much more likely he will sign up himself.
As I mentioned in the original post, he still might not just because of health issues, he has muscular dystrophy and it's hard for him to use keyboards and mouses and stuff for too long.. BUT.. I think after yesterdays response, there is a much better chance of him trying it out. :)

I'm going to try to talk to him later tonight and tell him about what happened and try to explain how sometimes it's hit and miss, and one post that's good might get ignored, and another might get $100 like what happened.

I guess we'll see how it goes! But thanks either way for actually showing him a good welcome and for showing interest in having him be a part of the community. That makes me feel better about the community as well.. And I've been here for close to a year now, so I'm not necessarily new to how things work.. I've been watching and studying and I try to be fair and honest with my opinions.. And this makes me feel better about it.. I admit. Seeing his first post get practically ignored wasn't easy. I think he's a legend.. And one of the best photographers in history in my opinion.

I also realize now after the fact that if I had included the #introduceyoruself tag he probably would have got a much better response, but I guess I just forgot and didn't think about it since I wasn't introducing myself.

So anyways.. Glad to see that that happened and hopefully he ends up signing up with his own account, but if he does not.. I will still post his images because I got permission.

In regards to this image above.. It's called Chapel Rainbow.. I think the camera was a 35mm.. But I'm not really sure! Either way it's one of the most amazing rainbow shots I've seen.. And I'm honored to share it with you all. :) Enjoy.

Wow, never seen a rainbow with such vibrance and one hell of a background. Great job, following for more, thanks!

I've seen a few others close to that one, but yeah.. Super vibrant! Thanks for the positive feedback and the follow! You're welcome!

I do not always find the right words to say, but it's simply a wonderful scene

:)

He certainly is talented! It almost looks surreal, how the rainbow is visibly glowing against the rock formations.

Indeed.. I agree. Thanks for the nice comment. :)

Impressive @apolymask. Give my regards to your father.

Thank you. I talked to him earlier tonight and told him about all the nice comments he got, but will tell him again specifically in regards to your message next time I talk to him. :)

holly fuck! I can see the pot of gold from here!

Lol. :)

Great picture!

On a side note, if I ever meet your father in going to punch him in the face for being so good. Especially on actual film. Amazing.

Heh. I'm sure you're just kidding and I realize that, though I admit that comment was a lil weird considering he's old and disabled. Anyways though.. Lol.. I'm sure you meant nothing wrong by that and were just kidding as I said.
I've actually got a somewhat similar comment before in regards to one of my pictures..
This one photographer guy one time said something like.. "How am I ever suppose to get a shot like that? You make it really hard for me to be a photographer" Or something like that.. I'm probably butchering it.. But.. The sentiment was positive towards me even though it sounded kinda negative to himself. I know he meant well, but to me it was like.. I wanted to tell him that maybe some day he could get a shot like mine if he kept trying and to not give up.
And I know I take people too literally sometimes, it was prob just an off the cuff kind of joke kinda like the one you did.. Though I dunno, I guess language is weird sometimes and especially over the internet where there's no tone of voice or laughter to signify someone was joking.
But.. Thanks for appreciating and for the randowhale thing! Not sure how all that works but it said thanks to you up above. So thanks! :) I appreciate it. And looking forward to sharing more of my dads images, also.. I talked to him earlier tonight and explained a buncha stuff and he seemed open minded to the idea of making his own account.. He didn't say he was going to for sure, but he seemed positive about the idea.. So.. Maybe he will sign up afterall! :) We'll see. Thanks again customnature!

lol Sarcasm is lost on some people. You just happen to be one of them. I'm not going to punch your elderly, disabled father in the face for being an amazing photographer. Hahaha It's an extreme way to say I'm jealous of his skills. No problem about the randowhale, or the resteem.

I was 99% sure you were just joking, who would say something like that and be serious? Yet, to be straight forward I've only exchanged a couple words with you and I dunno what you're like, but still it was just kinda weird, lol.. That's not my culture or and people don't usually act like that around me, I do remember a friend I used to have that was kinda like that.. But even for him joking about punching my father would be strange.
I assume where you are from it's much more normal to joke about punching each other. I apologize for not just going along with the joke and laughing, but it just seemed a bit foreign to me.

PS I posted another image of my fathers today and it did well again! I have a good feeling he'll eventually sign up and try it out. ._. Not 100% but.. A good feeling.
