If you read my blog you know all about me and my love affair with brewing and drinking kombucha. Occasionally I buy bottled kombucha if I’m not home and today was one of those days.
I have kombucha or Suja drinking vinegar most days in the morning as I feel having a probiotic drink on an empty stomach is the most beneficial, but being that I was not home I had to stop at the store.
They were out of the Suja brand and I picked up this Kevita Meyer lemon flavored drinking vinegar.
If you are wondering if drinking vinegar tastes and smells as pungent and acidic as apple cider vinegar you are wrong! Drinking vinegar is bubbly, still a little tart but is deliciously as refreshing as kombucha. This bottle was even more delicious as it had water kefirs (another natural probiotic) and tasted like a fizzy and bright kombucha. Super good! I think I’ll have to buy it again!

Ohhh great... i think if i have to pick a favourite right now it would be water kefir... however my teacher at the Fermentationist Certification Programme (which i am yet to learn a lot from !! ) believes that probiotic foods are best taken in small amounts with each meal and very varied..i.e. many different ferments throughout the day and in small amounts - obviously this gets you most variety in bacteria... will be posting loads more as i continue learning. @phytosophia Fermentationist Certification Programme sounds amazing! I love both kombucha and water Kefir, however, I was careless in my kombucha drinking. It was a busy 2 years in the midst of moving out of state and being pregnant & then tending to a newborn (&3 more kids)while living in a travel trailer for 18 months. I would often drink kombucha with breakfast and dinner, then immediately brush my teeth. I damaged the enamel of my teeth horribly, beyond the point of remineralization. I just never thought about it until it was too late. I still love fermented drinks. In fact, my family loves water kefir I just encourage kombucha (and coffee) drinkers to swish with water to avoid my mistake.

Yes acidic drinks can do that to you! I only drink kombucha and kefirs in the warmer months and different types of probiotic food during cooler months. Oh how I love fermented foods!

We've made simple fermented carrot sticks and broccoli stem matchsticks and the kids just love them! So good! I'm a little obsessed with Wildbrine's new fermented hotsauces.

Interesting article. I do drink apple cider vinegar everyday and have gotten used to it but now I will have to try a few other ideas. Also if you like natural probiotic sources try pickled sour craught. I have a tablespoon of that everyday as well. Thanks for your post.

I loooooove kombucha, and am obsessed with all things probiotic after that healed my tummy in a stressful spell a few years ago. xx!
