I thought I’d take advantage of my recent trip to America and get some cool shots for my Instagram as I knew I’d be doing much more interesting stuff than I do in the UK. Here are a few of the best ones with a description of what was happening.

This was taken a bit before the holiday but it's slightly on topic as I'd been working on my tan at the point that this was taken, I also wanted to bulk up this post a teeny bit with an extra photo haha

Stood outside the Airbnb I stayed at in Yonkers NY with my suitcase in tow ready to head to Philadelphia. I purposefully bought the loudest suitcase I could find so that I’d definitely see it coming around the luggage carousel at the airport. Funny story about this Airbnb, I arrived there at 1am to a locked door so I had to call the host who lived 2 hours away to bring the key. She told me to wait in the main house, but it was clear someone was in there and I didn’t want to get shot (with it being America) so I paced around the front step for hours hoping I wasn’t about to end up in some American Horror Story until she got there.

At Rocky Gap State Park we decided to go paddle boarding and we were given life jackets to wear because the water got quite deep in the middle. I wanted to get a cool picture with my tiger kimono on and not a frumpy one with a bright yellow life jacket so when the park ranger wasn’t looking I took it off, hopped on the paddle board and did the quickest pose and then fell off in to the water as I was trying to hurry because I didn’t want to be spotted and apprehended by the ranger (such a sucker to authority). We ended up losing an Oar somewhere in the lake anyway so the Ranger didn’t end up very pleased with us after all.

Stood waiting for the subway, not posing at all 😜. Although this skirt photographed well it ended up being a bad idea, it was already short so walking around a windy New York City with it on was a struggle. This was however a great excuse to buy a new skirt in whilst we were exploring NYC, to protect my modesty of course... not because I just really like shopping 😉

Sat outside in the courtyard of Coppin’s Restaurant and bar in Covington, Kentucky. We’d just said goodbye to our friends we went out to the States to visit and I’d also just tried Grits for the first time. I’d heard of grits in that Eggs … Bacon … Grits … Sausage song that went viral a while a go on YouTube but I never knew what it was. The smile on my face sums up what I thought of Grits... I’M A FAN!! The sunny weather and the fact I was on holiday and not at work probably influenced the smile a bit too.

The infamous pink Sprinkles cupcake ATM machine 🙌 . The minute I realised they had one in New York I knew we had to visit it. I was that eager I made us trek (with heavy luggage) all the way through Central park, which for some reason I thought was much smaller than it was. It took us a good 30 minutes, but at least we earned our cupcakes 😂. I had another dilemma in that I’ve always been gluten free and I’d recently become dairy free, they had both a gluten free and a vegan cupcake but not one which was both so I had a day off and gave in to the dairy. Honestly why aren’t there pink cupcake ATM machines everywhere?

We’d just gotten in to a minor car accident but this graffiti monopoly wall was calling to me. Right next to the run-down, closed Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City, It was such a contrast. A bright, vibrant wall in the middle of a dreary ghost town (maybe due to the time of year). The plan for this day was to go to the attractions on the boardwalk which ended up being closed, go surfing which we couldn't do because the waves were too rough and go to a Hooters (a novelty for us brits) which didn't really live up to our expectations. Even though my face clearly hadn't moved on from the previous events 🤣, this wall really was the brightness in a bit of a bleak day.

To end on a high note though the America Trip was fantastic, which picture do you like the best, let me know in the comments lovelies?? 😊
