I am happy to announce that our new project has started. We are going to build a stealth camper van with our own hands. For those who do not know what is a stealth camper van: simply one which does not look like a camper. Just imagine a panel van with some windows on it and that is it, it has to look like any other van that you see on the streets. And why is it a camper? Because you can live in it without any external source of energy and support for days, usually until you run out of water.
My biggest challenges:
1; I just moved to a new country (I do not even speak the language properly)
2; No previous experience (I don`t know how to fix anything)
3; It has to be on a budget (more on this later)
4; We do not have a van (OK we just ticked it off)
My idea is to document the whole process and post about every major and maybe minor progression on Steemit. I have been watching Youtube videos and reading blogs for the past months and I still have a lot of questions and black spots. But slowly it will all get together.
So as I said we made the first and one of the most important step. We bought the van. It is a 2005 Fiat Ducato 2.8JTD. It has a long wheel base(3.7m), a medium panel length(3.32m) and a high top(1.9m).
Anyway that is it for now, because it is already a long post and I could go on for another hour. But let`s leave something for the next posts.
So next time I will write a bit more about the van, about purchasing a van in Spain and about how we want it to turn out.
