Lac de Joux
Is a lake in the Swiss canton of Vaud, the North western part of the country. This is the french speaking part of Switzerland that borders with France. Every winter the Lac de Joux freezes and many people flock here to Ice skate on the lake.
The Lac de Joux has a surface area of 9.5 km² and is therefor the largest lake in Switzerland that lies above the 1000 meters altitude.
On a sunny day it is a winter heaven to ice-skate on this large lake!

even at sunset, people still enjoy the ice-skating evening, maybe even with a glass of hot wine.
