As my good friend @caesaria once wrote, “The Faroes still feel ancient, deep, and untouched by the outside world.” In 2007, National Geographic declared them as the “most unspoiled islands in the world.” Having traveled to Iceland over a dozen times before that, It felt like I was stepping back into Iceland over 200 years ago. On some of the remote islands people still lived in thatched huts, and had a simple existence that is becoming more and more difficult to find in our globalizing world.
