My first impression: Russia?
but then, of course not, the metal is still in tact. :)

What is this place though? a bunker of some sort?

Hahaha not quite Russia, but Cape Spear in Newfoundland. An old military base close to St. John's which was used in World War 2. Due to its location, it was able to overlook the narrows coming in and out of the harbour. As a result, Cape Spear was used primarily for lookout, with its bunkers being used for both living commodities, and weapon storage.

Not a bad setup considering Newfoundland kinda got their asses handed to them during that time!

War... in Newfoundland?!?

yes, but about 75 years ago

love the details and textures in this capture. There's a kind of fogue in the distressed concrete.

I love knowing that somebody has actually viewed my post, then left a good comment. Thank you!
