From our travels in San Francisco - we lucked out and got the 'secret room' in a hostel...a little shack to ourselves ON THE ROOF! Access to it was comical - through maintenance cupboard with a fake back shelf with pots of paint on it which was actually a door to the roof. We had a brilliant view of the city and at night we could hear the 1920s music playing through the airducts. It was like listening to the past! Magical :)
