Sunsets of Surf CitysteemCreated with Sketch.

I've been trying to capture the beautiful sunsets of my little beach town (Surf City, NC) for the past couple of years.  I shoot with a Nikon D7000 but I am still very novice when it comes to photography.  These are all unedited pictures.  I hope to spruce them up one day or possibly pay someone on fiverr to do so (since I'm also not skilled in photoshop or any of these tools).

Let me know what you think!  Any tips/tricks on shooting sunsets/sunrises would be appreciated.  It really is hard to capture the true beauty of these events.

Cheers,

Rainbow Sunset

This sunset (like all of my photographs) was even more pronounced and diverse in real life.  Such a beautiful pallet of colors!

Crane for the New Bridge

They're building a new bridge here in Surf City, NC.  It will sadly span the area where we see the most beautiful sunsets.  I only hope that once it is complete there is an even better view from the bridge!

Sunset Mirrored in Intracoastal

This was one of those perfect (nearly) windless days.  It gave a great view of the sunset mirrored within the Intracoastal waters.

Sunset Sparkling on the Water

To me this looks like a lighthouse shining the way forward.  I've tried to capture the light on the water a number of different times.  It isn't that easy!  Hopefully I'll be able to improve my techniques... this one turned out decently well.

Excellent, if this is a taste of your upcoming posts I will follow you!

We try to go out to sunset daily. I've been taking ~15-20 shots per night. My wife always reminds me to put down the camera for awhile and watch it "with my own eyes" :-)

Your wife is a smart lady!

Looks awesome. I like the shot of the crane cutting through the sky

Thanks! They're putting in a new bridge here... that view has totally changed. Hopefully there will be some great views from the bridge when it completes in 2020 (?).
