If you've ever searched for stock photos featuring people of color, you may have found that these images can be a little hard to find. However, in recent months the curation of these images has grown significantly. So to aid in your search, I have comprised a list of 6 of my favorite sites where you can find stocks photos that feature black and colored skin tones. Featured in no particular order, let the list begin!
1. Createherstock.com
Createherstock is a paid subscription site. It is one of my favorite sites, because it features beautiful images for women of color. It's a great site for anyone who is looking for images that feature office life or lifestyle photography.
2. Getcolorstock.com
Getcolorstock is a unique model that features emerging photographers, while paying them above-market commissions. This site is great for finding a variety of photos and styles. Really a must see!
3. Women of Color in Tech
Women of Color in Tech features images that are free for commercial use. This is another really great option if you are looking for stock photos of women of color in an office space!
4. Unsplash.com
The images on Unsplash are also free for commercial use, and the collection of images featuring people with darker skin tones has grown tremendously. You can find these images simply by searching keywords like "african american men/ african american women". A few of my favorite accounts can be found at @eyeforebony, @willpower, and @jazminantoinette.
5. Nappy.co
What I love most about Nappy is that it holds of collection of photos from other sites. It's really nice when you don't have to search the big wide web to find all of the photos by your favorite photographers. Above all, Nappy is great if you're looking for a variety of images. Check it out.
6. Adobe Stock
Out of all the sites that I have used, Adobe Stock had the most variety. Although their pricing options are a more on the expensive side, the images are gorgeous, and there are TONS of options to choose from. They even have a promotion of 10 free stock photos for any first time subscribers for the annual stock plan.
And that's it; the 6 best stock photo sites for black skin tones!
