These photographs were taken four years ago during a trip that was not planned but very dreamed, we traveled by motorcycle from the city of Caracas to Punto Fijo in the state of Falcón, Venezuela. It was a very eight-hour lake trip and because it was nothing comfortable on a motorcycle. In the tour we met many villages and hamlets, where we looked there were spectacular landscapes, the city of Coro is beautiful with much historical content and an intense orange sunset.
When arriving at the road that is next to the National Park Médanos de Coro, young people approaching the vehicles selling goat milk sweets typical of the region, as soon as a car arrives, several of these young people compete running for the potential client who has just arrived It's funny, it made me laugh like they do, they're agile and they do not accept a negative response, you'd probably buy the candy.
We left the motorbike on the side of the road and climbed the sand hills, I never thought it was so difficult, the sand is very thin and light, with each step my feet sank and take them out of the sand it cost me, took several steps and I was still in the same place, I can not help but smile when I remember that moment. I did not believe what my eyes saw, I could not believe that I had fulfilled my dream of knowing the Médanos de Coro, a magical place where God seems to have placed a handful of sand, from the hills you can see the city, Every hour of travel was worth it.
The sand is soft, warm and so light that the wind lifts it, the time there seems to stop, for a moment you disconnect from the world. There was a group of young people practicing a sport called Sand Board, equivalent to snowboards but for sand. I took many photographs of the place, everyone enjoyed it, the children wallowed in the sand, they are the ones who best show the fun, we have a lot to learn from them.
I close my eyes and I can see that orange sunset, feel the wind in my face and hear the laughter of children, I imagine walking barefoot on the hot sand, my feet sinking with each step and feeling small as a grain of sand, I remember wanting to come back.
